Terms of use
The simple rules that keep the platform fair and safe for everyone.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. Plain-language version 2, last updated 2 October 2026.
Accounts
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Do not pretend to be someone else or another organization.
- Orphanages and partners must provide genuine documents. Donor accounts, orphanages and partners may be reviewed, approved, rejected, paused or closed by the team, including after approval if concerns come up. Where we can, we will tell you why.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, choose a new password with "Forgot password?" and tell us.
Pledges
- A pledge is a promise to give. The platform records it but does not collect, hold or move money.
- Pledging does not create a legal obligation to pay, but please only pledge what you intend to give.
- After you pledge, you see a reference for your pledge and the home's payment account, once our team has confirmed the account belongs to the home. You give directly to the home, with the reference in the payment note. We cannot see, refund or recover payments. The home marks your pledge as received when the gift arrives.
- Orphanages must use gifts for the need they were pledged to.
- If you arrange a gift outside the platform, that is between you and the orphanage. We are not a party to it. Be careful with anyone who pressures you to pay quickly or in an unusual way, and report it to us.
Visits
- Approved donors and verified partners can ask to visit an orphanage. A request is only a request: the orphanage decides whether and when.
- Visits are arranged and supervised by the orphanage's staff. Visitors are never left alone with children and must follow the home's rules.
- Do not take or share photos or videos of children unless the orphanage agrees.
- If an orphanage approves, it receives your name and email address so it can arrange the visit.
Stories, photos and videos
- Orphanages can share stories, news, thank-yous for gifts, photos and short videos. They are shown only to approved donors and verified partners, never to the public.
- An orphanage must have the right to share everything it posts, and the permission it needs, including from the people responsible for the children, before showing any child's face or voice. Do not post a child's full name, address, school, identity documents or medical details.
- Supporters may watch and read what a home shares but must not copy, download or republish photos and videos of children, or share them elsewhere.
- The team can remove any post or video, and pause an account that posts something unsafe or untrue.
- Links to an orphanage's own social pages are chosen by the orphanage. We do not control those pages.
Messages and content
- Be respectful. No harassment, hate, scams, advertising or requests for money outside the agreed process.
- Do not share children's full names, identity documents or sensitive details, and do not share other people's personal details without their permission.
- The team can read direct chats, remove content and pause or close accounts to keep people safe, especially children.
Our role
We verify organizations to the best of our ability, but we do not guarantee how any home or partner uses gifts, or what happens during a visit or an arrangement made outside the platform. Please take care and use the messages to ask questions. The service is provided as it is and may change as the platform grows.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform grows. The date above shows the latest version. If a change matters to your account, we will tell you through the site or by email.
