How CAM Orphanage Connect works

Three kinds of members, one careful process. Here is exactly what happens, step by step.

For orphanages

Getting verified and getting supported

  1. Create an account

    Sign up with the home’s name and an email address. You can start filling in your profile straight away.

  2. Complete your profile

    Add your official registration number, location, children in care, contact person and your story. Upload at least one verification document and agree to the terms.

  3. Submit for review

    Press Submit when your checklist is complete. Our team reviews it and may ask for more information.

  4. Go live

    Once verified, your home and its needs appear to approved donors and partners, who can pledge and message you.

For donors

Finding a need and pledging to it

  1. Create an account

    Tell us your name and, if you like, where you live and how you prefer to give.

  2. Wait for approval

    Our team approves donor accounts to protect the homes. You can message the team while you wait.

  3. Browse and pledge

    Open any verified home, pick a need and pledge an amount from 500 XAF. You may hide your name from the home.

  4. Stay in touch

    Message the home, and follow all your pledges from your profile.

For partners

Becoming a verified partner

  1. Create an account

    Sign up with your organization’s name and email.

  2. Complete the profile

    Add your organization type, country and contact person, and upload your registration certificate, tax clearance or your contact person’s ID.

  3. Submit for verification

    Our team reviews your documents. When you are verified you can browse homes and message them.

  4. Make it count

    Propose a matching pledge, favourite the homes you support, and talk to them directly.

What is a pledge?

A pledge is a promise to give a certain amount toward one need. It is recorded on the need's progress bar and shown to the orphanage. No money is collected on this website yet. You and the orphanage agree how to send the gift, with the team there to help.

Who can read the messages?

Messages between a home and its supporters are private to the people in the chat, except that the CAM Orphanage Connect team can read them to keep children and supporters safe. Everyone is told this on the messages page.
